  5.  @HR_8035_YEA  : I find his powers of prediction to be as reliable as any commentator I’ve come across. Not infallible, no one is, but honest and open. More treasured (for me) is his capacity for self criticism and self awareness, which I value highly in any man or woman, but becomes vanishingly rare amongst political commentators; to the extent that even the BBC have gone down in my estimation, becoming much more of a megaphone for the government and far less of an untainted, impeccable source. So, I’ll keep listening to him, while he keeps getting it right and keeps showing the humility to admit errors. If you’re smart, you will too. ✌️

What worries me is that China’s economy is in such a tight trap (housing bubble, land pyramid schemes, population crisis, etc) that they might decide that military aggression is their only hope of avoiding being under the west’s economic thumb? Desperate people do desperate things. Especially when there are so few checks and balances . . .

  11. I wonder if anyone has an answer for my question, which was prompted by Peter’s opening remarks about America’s trade relationship with China? If America has such trading power over China, then WHY are they allowing all those countless IBM Microprocessors to go to China, only to be sold, en masse, to Russia, who continues to manufacture guided missiles with them and is bombing the hell out of our allies!? I’m speaking primarily about Ukraine, obviously, but there are other allies, or those who simply resist Russian hegemony in places like Syria, or in countries all over Africa. China is Russia’s main source of microprocessors, and American IBM’s are China’s main source of top level microchips. Why are we (NATO, et al) not sanctioning these funnel companies, or threatening to withhold all microchips? Russia would be totally reliant on Iranian drones if it wasn’t for the fact that they keep restocking on microchips! And it would only take a little disruption to the Iranian life line, for say a month or so, for Ukraine to experience relief from constant terror attacks and to gain a significant advantage on their Eastern Front IF Russia had no access to American made microprocessors from China! Is it just the MONEY?

Well, I’m too late to this party for anyone, let alone the maker of the video, to pay me any mind, but since he asked: The only thing I found, “angering,” at all was the implicit statement that he voted for Joe Biden at the last national election but then voted Republican at the midterms. We could debate whether Bernie Sanders’s policies are really as uncosted and crazy as he suggests, but that doesn’t anger me. I agree with that fundamental point and think people wouldn’t care too much about that too, as they know that institutions would have to start figuring that out once he was in power. Plus, even just managing to put the breaks on the rampant unregulated capitalism running amok around the world starts and ends with the USA, which is currently bringing back child labour for crying out loud! Businesses are becoming countries unto themselves and that worries the hell out of me.

  14.  @HR_8035_YEA  : He’s the senior navy officer, right? If he’s the guy I’m thinking of, he’s good at analysing military strategy and, to a degree, how that pertains to global affairs. But, he wouldn’t lay claim to any, “predictive,” or broader powers of analysis. So, you’re comparing apples and oranges, quite frankly.

  16. Ukraine MUST WIN! They deserve nothing less than total victory. And, even if Russia thinks it can cling to Crimea alone, that would still be a REWARD for pure evil and APPEASEMENT from the west, inviting more trouble down the road! It is in the free world’s interests to FINALLY put Putin back in his box. I guarantee that a total meat grinder tactic will FAIL if that’s all that Putin has. He just cannot escape modern communications and the internet. He will be overthrown. And Russia has toppled countless of their own leaders over military losses before. I’m not just thinking of Afghanistan, but also the Cuban Missile Crisis, which ended Khrushchev’s career. Putin WANTS the west to think that his downfall would lead to the breakup of Russia, but the TRUTH is that it won’t. They can install new leaders after a palace coup as easily as they change their socks. They did it after the death of Stalin too, all behind closed doors. It’s the one thing Russia does well. STOP falling for Putin’s narratives. Ukraine wins and we get a lasting peace. Ukraine loses, or partially loses, and it NEVER ENDS.
