  7. Mir0slava123 : They have been unstable for decades, but not in a way that most would assume. This, “oppressive regime,” that the west sees, is actually rather, “Liberal,” by Saudi standards. The King has replaced two princes in recent years, with administrative responsibilities; equivalent to a Prime Minister. And, women are getting driving licences and being allowed to go to cinemas, do knew types of jobs, like being doctors, for the first time, EVER. There was never ANY threat of an Arab Spring, as this administration is having to placate the population who are largely uneasy with all this, “liberalisation,” at best; leaving many raging that their culture is being, “westernised,” and that their power is being undermined. The setup there is more akin to some kind of sci fi fantasy or Game of Thrones, scenario, with rival royal houses, battling for supremacy. And the best way to win allies, is to pander to the, “Conservatives,” with all the cash and family names that go back centuries. The complexities are endless and too numerous to list, here. But, suffice to say; the simplest breakdown is that the US (with occasional help from Britain and France in particular, but also other UN countries) shields Saudi Arabia, which is viewed with either suspicion or hostility, by its neighbours. It uses that leverage to pressure the country into playing ball on western (particularly US) interests. The balance has always been delicate, and the scapegoating of other countries, for 9/11 was a necessity, in order to maintain that balance. We have a snake by the tail, which is useful for keeping hostile nations at bay and enriching the top echelons of western powers. But, it BIGHTS, and its bight is lethal. And, the very worst thing you can do with a pet like that, is to REWARD it, when it eats one of your own. The venom of that bight is only just starting to take effect, but it will be far more crippling than Trump will ever admit. Not only have we encouraged the viper to strike again, but the effect of its sting is about to poison us all. Wait and see
