No doubt, crowd funded by the GOP and directed by Jerry Brookheimer. But, anyone calling the fall of Afghanistan a Biden created disaster, is calling it a trump created disaster too. This is the one policy they agreed on. Joe has honoured trump’s deal and deadline. He’s ripped off the bandaid; which is the kindest thing. And we’ve had NO 911 level attacks since 2002, so our troops can be proud of what they achieved. All the mistakes are neither on Donny’s or Biden’s hands. In all fairness.

Afghanistan killed all their own fish. America should never try Nation Building in Muslim nations, but that’s not a mistake we can pin on Joe. Ripping off the bandaid was the kindest thing. History will prove that. Shouldn’t trump, who made this deal and set this deadline, be happy with that? If we can be none-partisan about it? There were no more 911 level attacks. We won. We should have left the place, years ago, but none of the good or bad from that is on Joe’s administration. This was the right decision. It’s their country. Now they must face up to what they are.

“Waste”??? What are you? Russian or something? No more 911 level attacks. Was THAT not worth it? We won that war. The Nation Building was the mistake, which came out of previous administrations, not Joe’s. Rip off the bandaid! It’s about God Damned time! But, despite all the losses and mistakes, this was not one of them. And, trump fans, remember: this was the deal that Donny made, being honoured by Joe’s administration, so presumably, you’re all delighted, right? . . .

Absolutely right. People need to remember that, and that this is the ONE policy where trump and Biden agreed. Biden honoured a deal set up and deadlined by Donny’s administration. He rather boldly ripped off the bandaid. History will judge that as the toughest, but most appropriate decision he ever made, I believe. All the mistakes; Nation building, not going after the Saudis, Iraq . . . None of those are on either Biden OR Trump, if we can set aside partisanship for one moment? I believe he did the right thing, and most of us would have done the same, in his position. And those too partisan to agree with me, are damning trump too. This was his deal and deadline.

@AlwaysAnAddiction : I don’t agree. You heard him? You can’t force your allies, at gunpoint, to get on the chopper? You can’t move an agreed deadline, if the government won’t? And if THEY decide they won’t put out an official evacuate order, that’s on them? Much good it did them! Seems to me like everyone’s pinning Iraq, our failure to deal with the Saudis, and the attempt at Nation Building on Joe, when NONE of that is on him. Check the record? He actually WAS against Nation Building from the start in Afghanistan! Much to the consternation of many liberal pundits. I’d like to see all you armchair presidents do a better job?

@masercot : Um? . . . We did. Not the first date, but the one he left behind him, for Biden to clean up. If people are going to be, “honest,” about this, it’s the one policy that both administrations agreed on. Given what we know now, assuming Joe is telling the truth and fully informed, I can’t see how he could have handled it any better?

Given that we’ve had ZERO 911 level attacks, since 2002, our troops can be proud of their achievements. They did their job: defending America, and the world as a bonus. It wasn’t Joe’s idea to try Nation Building. He said himself, he always believed that was a mistake. He kept a promise and a deadline, made by trump’s administration so, presumably, trump supporters will be delighted? Joe ripped off the bandaid, which history will judge to be the kindest act, under the circumstances. ✌️

Well said, my friend! He ripped off the bandaid. Which history will judge as the kindest act. Those criticising him for that, are also criticising trump, who’s administration set this deadline. I support this as one of the most bold, courageous and honourable acts of his presidency.

@drewmcdonald1077 : It is true to say that any, “blame,” that falls on Biden for this, falls on trump too. The one policy they agreed on: Biden met trump’s deadline, for trump’s deal. But, you heard him? You can’t make a corrupt government not corrupt? If they block your plans and if your allies won’t get on the damned chopper, you can’t force them to, without 100 thousand troops at your back, which puts you back to square one. This is not like trump’s desertion of our allies in Syria, which was done on a whim? I don’t think it will look so bad when the dust settles?

Nor could he force an unwilling, “government,” to cooperate, if they weren’t willing to move the deadline? What was he supposed to do? Stay embedded for another 20 years? Any, “criticism,” can be levelled equally at both administrations. But, what else could Biden have done? Ripping off the bandaid was the kindest thing. To me, at least. ✌️

“Won”??? You think? Our objective was to prevent any more 911 level attacks. We did that and our troops can be proud that they defended America. The mistakes, like Nation Building, Iraq, NOT going after the Saudis who backed the attacks, NONE of those are laid at this administration’s door. They have honoured a deal made by trump’s administration, so (presumably?) trump fans are pleased? We ripped off the bandaid, finally! And history will respect that. It’s all about the, “OBJECTIVES.” Now, Russia? They wanted to keep Afghanistan as their buffer state, as part of the Empire. Now, THEY had their asses handed to them. Any Americans who thought Nation Building in a Muslim country was a good idea; they had their asses handed to them. But, this administration AND trump’s cannot be counted among those. And any saying the fall of Afghanistan is Joe, are saying it’s on trump too.
