Belarus arrests a criminal that was flying through their country
33
@sekou3758 he is a wanted criminal in Belarus the plane he was in entered Belarus airspace they ordered the plane to land and arrested him, he should have checked the flight plan first
16
any criminals need to make sure that when they get on a plane that it does not fly over any countries that they are wanted in
9
so the next time I am pulled over on the Autobahn in Germany its an act of war as the police office has a gun?
7
@biggles106 nope not a bot just not jumping on the outrage wagon
5
@gluteusmaximus1657 if you are wanted by a country do not enter their territory when you do their rules apply land, sea or air
5
@TheKartoffel101 it was not EU territory it was Belarus territory when you are in another country's territory you obey their rules
4
@hornslane Roman Protasevich
4
@TheKartoffel101 I doubt the police helicopter would be able to catch up with the passenger jet its standard for interceptions of airliners to be done by fighter jet
3
I am assuming it was a lie to make it easier to get the plane to land people are allowed to lie
2
@sekou3758 I would assume it was a lie as they thought that it would make it easier to get the plane to land
2
@hornslane no idea something people are claiming was invented by the government
2
a criminal entered Belarus's jurisdiction they arrested him
2
if you enter a countries airspace you are entering the country so you obey their rules
1
its not piracy its law enforcement
1
@jz_photography if the constitution allows it dictators are not criminals its just another form of government. and its the Belarus government/police that are saying he is a criminal
1
@tmedocianis in Belarus he is that's why they arrested him, You may not think its a crime but they do and its their territory so in Belarus he is a criminal
1
@TheKartoffel101 in that case I would say international law is wrong and needs updating if you control the transport of people via your land or sea I do not see why air should be excluded
1
@CedarHunt what hijack?
1
@CedarHunt no but you did manage to shoot down an passenger airliner so your history is not perfect
1
@TheKartoffel101 LBGTQ+ protest groups should charter jets and have mile high club events while flying over those middle east country's. This was not about a possible infringement of the local law it was a wanted criminal that was known to be on the flight
1
@Gunther H.G. Geick did the fighter jet threaten the passenger plane with its missiles? or is it just implied the same as a police officers holstered gun
1
he never made it to an airport
1
I don't get the outrage what is the difference between this and a coach being pulled over on the highway apart from it being in the air? Belarus airspace belong to them if an official demands you land then you land
1
@CedarHunt I am pulled over on the highway the police officer is armed so could use deadly force instead of telling me that he thinks I am a wanted murderer he lies and says its due to a minor driving error to put me at easy
