  1. Grade 1 was the worst for me. Only teacher whose name I can remember. I could read well at 6. But was accused of just looking at the pictures (sorry but when you’re reading the black stallion at home, go dog go isn’t a challenge) she didn’t ask me to read, just sent me to sit at the principals until recess when she came and complained to him. Then she got mad because the principal asked me to read so I did. Next was the eggs, she had an incubator in class. When the eggs hatched I asked if they were egg birds or meat birds. Nothing like 20 screaming city kids who just realized chicken comes from chicken. It goes on, but she was evil!

  2. The stereotypes are pushed by the teachers unions. I think there should be a yearly final that covers the basics that every kid should have to take (none of this telling the dumb kids to stay home to get the schools scores up). As long as the homeschool kids pass those, you’re good to go.

  3. Good point. Aren’t we up to 5 states now that openly state literacy isn’t needed for graduation? Although I also read CA lost over 100,000 kids during lockdowns. As in nobody knows where they are. Not registered as drop outs, homeschooled, in other states, dead, just gone.

  5. I’m seeing a lot of “units” being handed out. Teacher gives kids units, then sits at her desk playing candy crush, Is this a norm? Then why bother going in?

  6.  @rasputanrasputan1380  I went over the Chicago school budget. Out of a $9.4 billion (IIRC) budget, $750 million is spent on core education.

  8. Oh they push the same crap on the brown kids as well. Black boys are told they’ll never get ahead and probably die before graduation. Asian kids aren’t allowed to struggle. They’re just not applying themselves because every Asian kid is a genius. And they just avoid the middle eastern kids.

  9. I use libertarian because it’s the closest. I don’t care what people do as long as they aren’t frightening children and horses. But I’m a strong protectionist. USA is probably still the best country around but it’s falling hard and needs to be protected.

  12. That’s illegal here. Two families try to join up and all of a sudden it’s a school and you need to register and have certified teachers and a board and and and
