  26. I have done this hike several times in the fall, I am extremely afraid of heights, I held the proper side of the chain tightly and would never leave the trail! I have done the Half Dome trail in Yosemite several times and I think that it’s much scarier and I’ve seen people hang over the ledge which is many times higher and lightning strikes have several injured or killed people. You have to have common sense wherever in the world that you are.

  55. I saw a factory owner that is so happy with his Haitian workers. He said that they actually show up to work on time everyday. I’m not going to speculate on who isn’t showing up to work but so many young guys these days just expect to work remotely from their vans 🚐 that they built themselves. We cannot all live on BLM land and do our jobs from a laptop in Moab with our climbing buddies. Please, I am not saying that these remote workers do not work hard, but if we expect manufacturing to return to the USA then those jobs must pay a living wage with or without unions.

My dad majored in accounting at university. I majored in business finance. We were taught about investing in tax shelters and he encouraged us to have no high interest loans and to try to have our house payment as our only debt.

One would have to be privileged enough to have a private small tour to see above the floors without fire exits for the tour groups.

  111. I’ve lived in San Francisco since 1986. We have excellent modern hospitals and excellent Doctors, but those with very low assets use the Emergency Rooms as their Doctor’s offices. The city is so kind to anyone that wants to live here the systems get overwhelmed. New York City has a law that everyone gets help and housing. Fentanyl has gone crazy nationwide. If the tables were reversed, I would be devastated. Certain families will put all of their assets, cars, houses, cars, etc in one person’s name and everyone else goes around lining up to get free services because they have under $2,000 in assets. Years ago when citizens of the USSR were coming here to live, lawyers taught them how to get the most out of the benefits available to them. Technically it’s not illegal, like taking advantage of every tax loophole possible. I have no idea what my point is, but thank you for maybe reading this post.

They can never find the owner’s manual warranty paperwork because the finance person who lies to you to screw you about an extend warranty, doesn’t want you to know the truth. Since this is only a hybrid and not a PHEV, it’s easy to run down the small battery while driving up to the ski slopes and only be left with front wheel drive? Subaru has kept their drive shaft on their new hybrid model, because they never wanted to loose their all wheel drive.

  171. My long range Model 3 was made in July 2018, so I’ve got none of the new stuff, but luckily I have the second generation interior and the better riding springs. The first model also had a polished chrome Tesla T on the steering wheel’s hub and will certainly have a rough ride and stiffer seats. So I consider myself pretty lucky. I also have lifetime data which ended at the end of June 2018, my red was cheaper and something else that I can’t remember.

  178. What an incredible palace! It’s a miracle that the state of Florida eventually did the right thing and restored the property after the Depression and WWII. Fortunately we all can visit this public place if we have the money for admission. My heart was totally broken when another incredible mansion was not kept for the public to enjoy, instead it was sold to a well known celebrity.

I wish that you would try again, this time don't stop at home to charge up your PHEV battery after your gas light turns on. Our Ford CMax PHEV has about two gallons of gasoline when it's gas pump light turns on. I'd be able to drive 90 miles on gasoline and if I fully charged the batteries, I'd to good for another 20 more miles.

I must've been so much simpler than the hectic business atmosphere that he was used to and the climate was great for his health condition. He lost 90% of his fortune after the 1929 stock market crash and subsequent great depression. That is why the giant swimming pool was never finished. It is rumored that all of the beautiful imported tiles are stored in the underground area next to the swimming pool. There are glass windows that look into the pool from the deep end. The house also had a form of evaporative cooling with wet fabric that air would blow through with air vents that can be seen in the big living room. I have not toured there for a very long time. My first visit was back in the late 1970's driving my 1977 VW Rabbit (Golf).

Our friends lived in the San Fernando Valley and we would go swimming in their pools. I could only breathe in partially before it hurt to breathe. I only found out recently that my sister couldn’t breathe either.

Today’s CEO’s get paid a fortune because the company bought back a bunch of shares to prop up its value. Mary keeps saying that her salary is low and that she made GM more valuable as that is how her compensation is based. So she gets tens of millions of dollars in compensation per year because of the price of the stock.

  260. It is really sad that Ford sells only trucks and suv's in the USA and Canada, but that is what most people want to buy and Ford has to make money. We loved our Ford Focus Electrics, the interior was great and the styling was really beautiful. Ford had really cheap leases, but the buy-out price at the end was much higher than the car was worth. Our car ended up at another Ford dealer and was sold for half as much as Ford wanted to charge us. Ford would not renegotiate the residual value of our cars. We also leased Ford Cmax PHEV's, which are not sold here anymore. We did pay the residual price at the end of the lease, because we didn't want to give it back.

I was graduating high school in 1977 and my parents and I split the cost of a new 1977 2 door Rabbit with a beautiful off white exterior with a light brown interior, 4 speed manual, factory air conditioning that preserved the outside air flow, a big clock where the Scirocco got a tachometer. Your beautiful venting windows in your front door were only available in the earlier part of the model year. I added some VDO gauges in the speaker grill, an amp meter and maybe volts. I put 6x9 speakers in the rear deck's plastic fixed ends and a Pioneer Supertuner radio with a separate amplifier. One rainy drive near Crater Lake the stereo stopped working because the windshield starting leaking water. The front and rear windows were held in by gaskets, barely. I took out the entire dashboard and caulker the heck out of the windshield. I never had a leak again. Blair, I loved seeing your beautiful Rabbit! It had brought back so many memories!

Imagine if all vehicles had to pass the European pedestrian crash tests? There’s no chance that I’m going to take less than four wheels. Everybody talks about how safe their vehicles are, but they only crash into the same type of vehicles as themselves. The smart car talked about their safety cage, but that’s Smart against Smart. I took to the awesome San Francisco service center, where the technician rode in the back seat, crawled into the trunk while I was driving and he diagnosed the problem.

I really loved driving a rental Fusion from Alamo, but I try to do as much as possible for the environment and would want at least a PHEV or an EV. Ford already took away my much loved CMax PHEV, but they are promising an amazing future full of PHEV’s and EV’s. I could only see a two year heavily subsidized lease as a way to get these out in large numbers. I find the Mustang Mach E much more desirable than this Polestar. Question, Can you input each driver’s name and save all of their preferences? I never see reviewers cover this and I only see the traditional seat memory buttons on every car, except for Teslas?   420. Have you driven a Ford lately? I think that Ford has earned a second chance, if only the Dealership experienced didn't suck! I tried to look at a Mustang Mach E and I was totally ignored. It's best to deal with their internet salespeople, but the Finance person in their fancy suits are the ones that will really try to screw you over. Who ever heard of having to negotiate the price of an extended warranty and they will lie to your face about the factory warranty, especially on an EV or a PHEV.

  433. We have a small roof with a 10 panel, 2,000 watt system, that’s 14 years old. Our roof is part of an association, so solar roof tiles are not an option. I’d love to have the new 350 watt solar panels, 3,500 watt system and a Powerwall, is what I’d love to purchase. The expense cannot be justified. We don’t have air conditioning and all major appliances are natural gas. It barely costs anything to charge our Model 3, as we both work from home.

But, if there’s time to plan your entire route and you take no side trips, there is nothing as amazing as going up any hill like the road is just a level surface. You could be at 12,000 feet and there’s no power loss. Everything involves compromises. Years ago we took this incredible drive across the middle of Nevada on the Extraterrestrial Highway. There were almost no towns or electricity ⚡️ except high voltage cross country transmission lines. I would love to recreate that trip in my Tesla, but it would scare me to death and would me too much anxiety because there’s no infrastructure. I know that some of you are daredevils and regularly run your fuel tanks to empty, but that is not me.

I had already waited years and I didn’t trust Fremont to do any better the next time. My panel gaps are all very tight, so I got a great car and didn’t want to jinx myself.

Once the USA has DC fast chargers as well spread out as Tesla has, there will be some huge competition. I don’t care if every Walmart has some chargers in their parking lots, because that won’t be very convenient for holidays around the country. I do wish the DC chargers to enable drives to Alaska. There is a man named Wade, who did drive his Performance Model 3 up the the Arctic Ocean, but it took a lot of slow charging at campgrounds that are powered by generators.   559. I am so glad that you are telling about your incredible experiences at Tesla. Tesla’s factory in Fremont gets a lot of smack for poor paint quality with drips, spots and fisheyes. They have interior pieces of trim that are not always installed correctly. They have hatches, trunk lids and taillights that can be subject to uneven gaps. Last quarter I volunteered to help with customer deliveries at our local delivery center. Truck after truck of cars were being delivered, I am in contact with the detailer that installed my PPF, so I am not just talking out of the side of my mouth. I own a 2018 Dual Motor Model 3. It has some paint defects that I just learned to live with because I didn’t want my new car repainted and if I had refused it, the reorder would’ve been at the new prices. I believe that the blue collar workers are rushed to get cars out, they don’t fix issues at the factory because they leave that up to the service centers to fix. Us volunteers were instructed not to point out any defects, because we were there to answer simple function questions. Whose fault is it that things are not better? White collar, blue collar, Elon? There is no union so we can’t blame their rules. I used to work at a union wholesale plumbing supply company and I didn’t dare touch anything in the warehouse and take work away from someone! It was us and them, separate and unequals.

I take it that even with all wheel drive, that there's still a front wheel drive bias? I would have to wrap that piano black interior with some type of paint protection film to eliminate the fingerprints and the scratching problem.

  563. I love you so much Jeremy, but we tried to work with Tesla solar for a couple of months until we asked for our deposit back. They couldn’t get the details correct, they tried to force us to use 10 panels, even though we only have room for 8 on our southern exposure. They wanted to stick two on the north side facing the street. We have association rules and that wouldn’t be allowed. It was impossible to talk to someone and they stopped answering emails. I don’t fault the Tesla employees, it’s Tesla’s 100% hands off system. We love our 2018 Dual Motor Model Model 3 and we would love to have more Tesla stuff that takes advantage of their phone application, including Powerwalls!

  568. Great review! I’ve got an appointment with OCDeatailing in Fremont, CA, to do a full paint correction, complete clear wrap and quartz ceiling. I’ve got a Red Dual Motor, Model 3. I hope that OCD, will be able to fix several imperfections in my paint. I didn’t notice any of them until I washed my car for the first time. I really didn’t want Tesla to fix any of these issues, because nothing is as good as the original paint’s longevity, in my opinion. Not one of these imperfections are noticeable to anyone, except myself. Unfortunately, these things still make me quite anxious 😟, in my private hell, located somewhere in my idiotic brain 🧠. Oh ya, OCD is so swamped that my appointment is not until the end of December. Now, I’m really freaked out about my Tesla getting damaged before that time. I’m such an idiot!

Califonia has Proposition 13 to keep property taxes stable for those that don’t move around. I have been in my house since 1989, it’s long payed off and the property taxes are staying affordable. I don’t care that it’s worth several times what I paid, my heirs can do what they want, build their own dreams. I love where I live, I don’t need to move to North Dakota so that I can spend my savings on heating in the winter or flying to visit family in Califonia.

  603. I kept waiting for you to say that it is the button on the left stalk, because my 2018 Tesla Model 3 works the same way. Push the Park button in and hold it in and it is going to trigger an emergency stop, just as one would expect it to do. The left stalk's button triggers a windscreen wash. Hold it in firmly and it will keep washing and wiping until you release the button. Push it in and release it and you will get a short wash and wipe sequence. I don't know where else that you would like to have an emergency stop trigger?

I am not a truck person in the slightest, but the Cybertruck packs more utility than any other four door standard duty pickup truck on the market. It’s got a frunk, a huge cabin with under the rear seat storage, an under bed storage compartment, storage compartments under each rear “wings”, a ramp system inside the tailgate, air suspension that can neil down, unknown power air compressor, unknown amperage 120 and 240 volt electric outlets that you might be able to power your home refrigerator in case of a blackout, an electric tonneau cover that might have an optional solar panel, stainless steel origami construction, impact resistant glass, an integral light bar above the passenger cabin, seating for six, but comfortable for five adults, an optional electric quad vehicle and three power/battery options. These are just off the top of my head. I think that the 3,500 pound load capacity is how much weight the entire vehicle can hold, but others think that you can put 3,500 pounds in the truck’s bed. What do you think, Mike?

I don’t know if Tesla can fix this. Tesla got rid of ultrasonic bumper sensors and that sucks as well. I read that Tesla is so cheap that even an outside temperature sensor is too expensive and they will go to over the air local weather stations instead of telling us the exact temperature at our cars. The difference is that even though they will never tow anything heavy over hundreds of miles without having to fuel them up. Rivian’s are lifestyle vehicles that fill a small niche in the market, I’m not making this up because you can see it in their expensive experience oriented outdoor centers in expensive places like in Santa Monica, Califonia. They’ve also built a fancy charging experience in Groveland, Califonia, which is on the journey between the San Francisco Bay Area and Yosemite National Park. I’m guessing that they’ll have to build another one of these on the path between Los Angeles and Yosemite? In contrast you’ll find dozens of Tesla Supercharger stalls in plain parking lots with zero amenities. Whose plan is more sustainable, Tesla’s or Rivian’s? Imagine these Rivian experience centers all over the USA? Only a young company who is used to burning cash could keep that up. When Teslabonly had the Model S and they were grateful for every sale, they treated their customers like kings, but eventually you have to make a good profit margin or cease to exist.

The front end does not have an internal combustion engine in it, so it's going to be lighter, unless you have the front trunk completely full of heavy tools. I have no use for any kind of truck and I don't understand the appeal of buying one to use it as a passenger car. I don't want my personal items in the bed of a truck, in the sun, even if it's under a tonneau cover.

So obviously none of this is going or can happen, the dealerships have the politicians in their back and their front pockets.

  912. We have a leased CMax Energi and a Dual Motor Model 3. If I were you, I’d keep the PHEV with the longest electric range. It’s fantastic to have the long range Model 3, because you can take it on long trips and the trunk is huge for all of your stuff. The CMax has very little covered storage and it doesn’t have the greatest traction with so much battery weight in the rear, not over the drive wheels or down underneath the vehicle.

  930. The yoke steering will have a really tight steering ratio, so there is no hand over hand turning circle. In other channels I see people constantly saying that just cutting off the top of their round wheels is not going to work. I could not agree more with them. There are YouTubers out there that have modified their steering wheels by turning them into yokes. They have had trouble making fast turns. Race cars with yokes have very tight steering ratios. There is nothing to worry about, unless it is not legal in your country.

I love a car with a real trunk, because I believe that you get better rear end crash protection and a quieter cabin with the rear tires being isolated in the trunk. When I look at the BOLT’s rear seat, the rear passenger’s head is really close to the rear glass. Hatchbacks always have inflated cargo capacities because they measure the entire rear area, all the way up to the headliner. They should only count what would fit under a required cargo deck or a cargo net.

It sounds like Ford rushed this vehicle to market knowing that a lot of systems needed improving, they went with an existing HVAC system and they have a locking pin like an automatic transmission uses to keep the car from rolling in Park. They made a gorgeous car, inside and outside and when people buy a combustion car, they don’t care about a tear down like this, but BEV customers are much more in tuned to these things. I would live to own a Mach E, but how will I know when these improvements have been made? I certainly can’t ask a lying salesperson.

If it was possible, I would just not charge the car when AC was needed. I know that a few people love that whole experience, but I just want my car, no bs. We bought a Tesla Model 3 in August 2018 and I’m still satisfied. Eventually we will need another car and I want a PHEV because I don’t want to depend on two full electrics. We like to travel to places that are way off the Interstate or other highways and I like having 500 miles of petroleum range plus batteries backup range. So maybe 600 miles total.

  1061. I have a Model 3 that didn’t even come with adaptive cruise control, it was part of an expensive package that I did pay for. I also paid for FSD, mainly to have Tesla upgrade the computer to the one needed for full autonomy. All Teslas come with adaptive cruise control and lane keeping, just like most every other car comes with. Do I believe that in Tesla’s fine print that they don’t guarantee that your car has all of the hardware necessary for Level 5 autonomy? Yes I do, especially after watching this depressing video of yours, Ricky! If nothing else, they need cameras far forward in the fenders so that the car could see as well as a human sitting at those corners. It’s so hard to pull out now without taking a chance. Every Tesla in the world that has any accident is going to be world news, just like any fire in the world. I think that you made one insignificant mistake when you said that a Ford Fiesta could park itself. I think that you meant a Ford Focus or maybe a Ford Escape, because those cars were made in the time period mentioned. Without the promise of incredible riches from full autonomy, Tesla’s stock value will hit some rough patches.

  1080. I'm picking mine up this Sunday, in Fremont! I ordered it online, on the first day. I waited longer for the dual motor version. The lead time was September-November. I wasn't really ready yet, because our lease is up on October 15th. They said that I didn't have to take this car, but I figured out that I'd have to pay the new prices and I wouldn't get the lifetime free data, either.   1081. I wish that I knew how to solve Tesla's Fremont factory problems. Is it the old layout, are the workers rushed, do the workers not care or is Elon obsessed with certain things and not the rest? I've been only buying brand new cars since 1977 and our 2018 Model 3 definitely has more paint flaws than every other car combined and I never had any build quality issues on any other car. The problem is that I love this Model 3 more than any other car that I've ever owned, so it's hard not to just walk away. My sister test drove a Model 3 and she fell in love it. She has never mentioned any defects to me, because she doesn't care about a few body issues, she just loves the car. I said nothing to her to make her order a Model 3, because I was nervous that she would call me up and complain about quality control. No phone calls have ever come. Please don't call me a fan-boy, because I would buy a different electric when fast chargers are everywhere and amazing "affordable" electric cars are the norm.

  1091. What an incredible mansion! I do not understand why the title says that it was buried in San Francisco when it was built in Menlo Park? Thank you so much for teaching me something that I knew nothing about. I have seen the outside only of the Flood mansion on Knob Hill in San Francisco as it is a private club. The insides of the mansion we completely burned out in 1906’s great fire after it’s major earthquake. I don’t know how they designed the new interiors.
