  2. Exactly. We have to also ask the fundamental question. Why should China's influence be countered by default, while US's influence is then by default should be expanded? That default assumption that China must be countered smack of arrogance because it automatically assumed anything China is doing must be bad, evil and immoral. The flip side is that anything America (and the west) does must be good, righteous and moral. So much so, that if a country take China's side, it must be because something nefarious have happened. It is such a self-serving, self-indulgent way of thinking that the arrogance is actually amazing. They literally cannot fathom that people can reject them based on their merits, or the lack of, and their terrible historical track records. This is 1984 Orwellian level of brainwashing where a people's imagination has become so limited that they cannot imagine anything outside the little garden set up for them to play in.

  4. If you have a gun, everything starts looking like a target. You start thinking you can solve all problems with violence. Having a problem with violence? Well, just do even bigger violence. If you think about it, it is exactly the fundamental problem with gun violence in America. When you start thinking that solving school shootings by giving guns to teachers, you have a gun culture problem. But try pointing that out to a 2nd amendment gun nut and they will start frothing at the mouth, threatening to murder you for trying to take away his freedom.
