Provided by the government, you have a robot, I have a robot, everyone has a robot until the day you/we die. AI/Robots work and we get paid. Sure, the minimum wage at places would have to be lowered, you suddenly have a more productive workforce. But we should be able to adjust the amount AI work force with aging population. It would put end to immigration, but I'm sure Right wingers will create or find other problems to fear monger about.

  23.  @tageslichtlampe2euro131  Yeah, it would be a massive kick in the nuts if robots suddenly gained sentience, and I hope they never will, and that our IT people are smart enough to not put capacity for sentience in AI (It should be the law, actually, you are basically creating a life). It can be scary (Movies, books, novels, video games and others have made sure of that, but those are situations at their worst), but it can also be amazing (Imagine what you could do, what humanity could do with AI/Robots as our property, AI/robot doctors/nurses, they don't need to be paid, imagine how good it will be for free healthcare). We shouldn't let fear stop us from trying to create amazing things, provided we don't act like morons (like every piece of media/entertainment makes us out to be) in the process of course.
