  1. Other than the anti-immigration views, Trump is a centrist and this interventionism doesn't really surprise me at all. If you recall, he gloated that he would bomb the hell out of the Middle East early in his campaign. He was a better choice than Clinton, but this was a huge mistake. He should have held true to his word about anti-interventionism. He bragged about being against the Iraq War and criticized Obama/Clinton for regime change and bombing Libya and Syria. Anyone in his shoes would feel empathy for victims of chemical warfare, but he needs to realize that human beings do terrible things to each other all the time. If we launch missiles every time a war crime is committed, we will find ourselves trillions more in debt, liable to stabilize the regions we devastate, and hated even more around the globe.
