Peter Edwards , it happened after the Vietnam war and at that time many said what you just wrote ! - not only did the economy collapse but , it never really recovered , because those industries which profit from war are usually the home of the greedy and the mindless ! it's basically ' easy money ' for the cruel and the stupid !

  5. justgivemethetruth , unfortunately , rotten people make a lot of money from war and they don't like to give it up - in the case of the Vietnam war and the wars now in the Moslem east - the ones dying and being hurt are not the ones in any way connected to the ones making fortunes and those at the bottom getting paid - unless there is an outpouring of condemnation against the profiteering , nothing will change - all the reports of a stable economy are basically lies ! those in power know this ! - in ancient Rome the populace were given bread and the brutal gladiator games to pacify them - look around , nothing has changed ! those with brains and compassion have to speak up , despite the cost ! and the cost will be very big !
