She assumes it's because of politics, but it might simply be because she's in the public eye and looks good. The same thing happens with singers, athletes, newscasters, etc. It may very well have nothing to do with politics.

@6stna8em Yes. Although I never understand why people judge women so harshly even if it is real. In my country we actually had a party leader who was also an adult model. She didn't win but that was due to politics, not because of her modelling. She ran for the Pirate Party, so... they didn't get a single seat. In fact, I was under the impression that her modelling actually brought in more votes than that party would've otherwise had. Perhaps she should've just pretended it was real and own it.

@RoskildeJonas In most places politicians really don't get paid all that much. Compared to the average joe, sure, but not when compared to careers the same people could have had in business. You also don't want politicians to be paid too little, because a) you want competent and qualified people in politics, and b) you don't want them to be easily corruptible.
