The International Court of Justice has not ruled there was a "plausible case that genocide has been committed". They even clarified this widely spread misinterpretation of their ruling. Their ruling said that South Africa had the right to bring the case forward and that Palestinians had "plausible rights to protection from genocide" under the treaty.

There are 45.000 dead in Gaza out of a population of 2.140.000. There is no genocide.

@teethincskate They don't, but that does not mean the term should be loosely applied. And to say the ICJ deems this to be "plausible" is simply incorrect and misleading.

@fibonaccisrazor It isn't paper reality. A genocide is the systematic deliberate destruction of a people. 45,000 people out of 2,140,000 have died in this conflict. If this were a genocide, it would take them half a century at that rate, while they have the capacity to cause much larger numbers of casualties. They give prior warnings (usually) of bombings, allowing the civilian population to move, which is not something that would happen in a genocide. That is not to say the war isn't horrible, because that it certainly is.

@fibonaccisrazor Tried explaining the actual reality, but that is apparently not allowed on this channel. So ask yourself: what is a genocide exactly, and if that's what Israel is doing, when do you think they'll be complete?
