  1. No, you can just live and work anywhere in the EU. You don't need a working permit, and you don't have to spend half the year in the Netherlands either.

  2. Yes, but I suppose that was chosen to make it obvious how open it is. At most border crossings there's nothing to see. No crossing, but nothing else either. It's just an invisible line somewhere on a road.

  3. I don't think this is really a good introduction to the EU. I am an EU citizen and I don't even know half of these, and I'm not going to remember either. This seems more like a compilation of weird little quirks we have. It misses an explanation on how and why the EU was formed, how it is governed, the core legal principles, etc.
