Anti-Zionism as anti-Semitism

Banner from an anti-militarist and anti-Zionist protest in 2003 in which several anti-Semitic clichés appear (the global Jewish conspiracy and the Jews' love of money), in addition to reproducing on the faces of the characters the old anti-Semitic stereotypes to describe Jews: large and hooked nose, almond-shaped and greedy eyes, pointed ears, etc.). Furthermore, an element of the new anti-Semitism is introduced: the identification of the "Zionists" with the Nazis .
Various political scientists and sociologists, such as Pierre-André Taguieff , Michel Wieviorka , Maria Luiza Tucci Carneiro or Alain Dieckhoff, [ 5 ] [ 6 ] [ 7 ] [ 8 ] have pointed out that radical, extreme or absolute anti-Zionism is a form of new anti-Semitism since, far from limiting itself to criticizing the policies of Israeli governments, which is totally legitimate, it calls for the destruction of the State of Israel or resorts to old anti-Semitic clichés and myths as "arguments" to attack the "Zionists" identified with all Jews. According to Alain Dieckhoff, "anti-Zionism as a new form of anti-Semitism begins when the right to national self-determination of the Jews is totally rejected, and reaches its peak when the destruction of the State of Israel is called... On the other hand, this anti-Semitism is generally accompanied of conspiracy. [ 6 ] Dieckhoff adds: "where the problem begins to emerge is when anti-Zionism is inserted into a demonized vision of Zionism, supposedly global, and where all kinds of fanciful visions of Jewish power are conveyed."
