Donbass has all the rights to defend their own country!

@hopeforbetter382 sure. DPR and LPR declared their independence after 8 years of unprovoked aggression from the bully, Ukraine. Donbass has every right to defend itself.

@oleksii000 aah, I see, so Kosovo = real country because what was happening in Kosovo matches YOUR definition of genocide, whereas what was happening in Donbass does NOT match your definition of genocide, therefore NATO attacking sovereign Serbia to support separatists should be applauded, but Russia's attack on Ukraine to support Donbass separatists is awful, horrific, to be denounced. The hypocrisy is astounding. tell me, what evidence do you have that Serbia's fight against Kosovar separatists was genocide but that Ukraine's fight against Donbass separatists was not genocide? Keep in mind more people died in Kosovo AFTER NATO's intervention than before.

@oleksii000 no one said Ukraine was committing genocide in Donbass. Read what I said carefully instead of imagining what I said. Neither Serbia nor Ukraine committed genocide. NATO intervened against Serbia to support separatists in Kosovo. Russia intervened against Ukraine to support separatists in Donbass. Either condemn both interventions, or neither. just don't be a hypocrite.

@bonnie7898 There was no genocide attempted in Donbass. Indiscriminate shelling of civilians doesn't clear the bar of genocide. It's still enough for Russia to intervene, but not genocide. Now, as to Serbia, let's see if you can produce evidence of a "systematic attempt to eradicate". systematic would mean a modus operandi, a pattern of behavior that was ordered from above. any government decree from Belgrade mentioning "genocide"? how about the names of a few villages where this happened? If I gave you the names of a few villages where the Kosovars did the same to Serb families, would you be convinced that Kosovo was committing genocide against the Kosovo Serbs? But, for the sake of argument, let us assume you are right, that Serbia had committed genocide. Then your argument becomes this: that whenever a military power is convinced genocide is happening, said military power has the right to invade, bomb, kill, murder, occupy, destroy wherever it wants, in the name of ending the genocide. sovereignty, territorial integrity, targeting infrastructure, collateral damage, all is acceptable. it all comes down to the definition and interpretation of "genocide". in that case, please, never ever again criticize Russia for invading sovereign territory, nor for waging war in such places. Just restrict your criticism to Russia's wayward interpretation of "genocide", because everything else is acceptable in your playbook.

@bonnie7898 I do plenty of reading and thinking. Moreover, I have been to these places and talked to people there. September and October 2021 spent in Albania and Kosovo. I have insights you don't have. The situations in Kosovo and Donbass are indeed comparable. In Kosovo, a separatist group was supported by murderous intervention by NATO, which is STILL the occupying force there (NATO, a "defensive alliance" you laughingly refer to). In Donbass, a separatist group was supported by murderous intervention by Russia, which is still the occupying force there. These are facts. No matter how you perform your mental gymnastics by defending one occupation as "preventing genocide", but not the other, shows how absurd your stance is...and we haven't even started on Iraq and Afghanistan! Russia is merely copying the playbook of NATO and USA. Now is not the time to hypocritically wring your hands about Russia's actions. Should have done that every time USA did exactly the same thing.

@bonnie7898 In Switzerland, only 4% of the population speak Italian as a native language. Almost all these Italian speakers are in just one canton, Ticino. Switzerland recognizes Italian as an official state language. Please explain why Switzerland has made a terrible mistake and should insist that those Italian speakers use Swiss German in all educational and government and legal spheres.
