Welcome to how it's been in border states and their surrounding states for decades. The federal government allows them in and then puts it onto the state to do something about them.

Having grown up in a poor rural southern town with a slight black majority I'm well aware ya'll exist. They were far more conservative than most of the huwhit population which was for the most part too. Everything centered around the churches. When almost everyone is poor and just trying to get by, there's no wasted energy on this mess. Everyone works and pulls together to help everyone else. Edit: We had a 14 year old black kid mowing his grandmother's lawn get killed by a stray bullet from an altercation 2 blocks away. Everyone joined together to help that family and try to prevent it again. It didn't matter what part of town it happened in, everyone grieved over it. That's what a community does which doesn't really exist in big cities anymore.

Republicans will never have Chicago. It's been politically corrupt for decades.

@randalthor2859 That's when it involves the entire state or city because not everyone did. I guarantee if you looked at who this area voted for they did indeed vote for it.

@donovan4222 I see comments like this often and it's clearly based on ignorance. States don't have the authority to deport them. The federal government does nothing to help border cities and states deal with the massive influx their policies create so it's left to be a financial burden on those areas. Meanwhile Democrat run places far north of southern border inact sanctuary policies because they're so far away they believed it wouldn't really impact them and they could virtue signal their moral superiority. Yes, send them to them since by their own policies they welcome them. Why should the burden only fall onto states that vote against these policies? Edit: As doing this has made clear, the population of those areas are upset by only a tiny fraction that the other states have to deal with. If you get enough Democrat voters upset over it, maybe policies will be changed. It's easy to support something when it doesn't impact you.

I wouldn't say Republicans won't do anything for them considering they benefit like everyone else from policies. It's that Republicans won't give them special treatment like reparations.
