Comments by "" (@earlysda) on "What No One Tells You about Living in Japan" video.
@Arslxn_Ash Arsixn makes comments on Youtube, then doesn't like it when other people make comments on Youtube. . But thanks for explaining the reason for your lack of maturity.

@Arslxn_Ash Arsixn talks about getting Japanese citizenship. LoL.

@Mwoods2272 Good point, Maurice. Actually, languists have said that each syllable in Japanese is spoken roughly 50% faster than in English. It takes many more syllables in Japanese to get the same information conveyed as in English, so the actual time spent is roughly the same. . Personally, I cannot stand to listen to normal speed English anymore, so this video, along with all other English ones, I put at 1.5x. Thank you Youtube!

The French lady was the only one interviewed whose opinion I disagreed with. If you noticed, she has been in Japan the shortest amount of time, probably explaining her lack of understanding.

jcali, agreed that Japanese friends can be very strong for a long, long time. However, living in America, many Japanese have thrown off some of their normal restraints of living in Japan. And if they are speaking in English, they have thrown off even more restraints.

Wise words, malan.

She was the only one I disagreed with. After she stays in Japan another month or more, she might change her tune.

@OfTheGaps Gaps, I didn't understand why that happened to my Japanese friends, until it happened to me (in an opposite kind of way)! I'm a (usually) calmer, more restrained person when I speak Japanese. Who knows, it may be linked at the linguistic level.

@commentarytalk1446 Commentary, I'm sorry that you cannot understand what I describe. . "Respect" and "rules" are not synonyms, and not even directly related.
2
Why do you do that? Is it from a desire to "fit in"?

@elmalanmalan2175 27 years here, but still no chance for PR.
2
@commentarytalk1446 Commentary, I've seen many foreigners interact with Japan in the 27 years I've been here. The French lady's comment was what is to be expected from someone who is still in the "honeymoon stage" with everything Japanese. . That stage usually lasts close to 2 or 3 years for most Westerners I know.
2
The French woman is not correct. She has only lived here for one month, and has no clue about Japan at this point.
2
" they have to be quiet." Ummm, no they don't.
2
@commentarytalk1446 Commentary, I said "not directly related", and you say "wrong they can be related". . You have some English issues you need to work on if you want to interact with native speakers.

@lynda.grace.14 Lynda, kudos to you! I used to have smokers put out their cigarettes on the platform, and many people around me were secretly smiling.

Even Japanese people are reluctant to open up to people. They are very closed, and often have one face for one group of people, and a different face for a different group.

I was yelled at twice by very irate men in Japan last month. They called me all sorts of names. So yeah, there are all kinds.

ななし, Many people don't realize how awful the wires look until they are gone. Yesterday I pointed out the ugly wires overhead to a Japanese who has lived in France for many years, and she noticed it too. But when pointing it out to people who have lived in Japan all their lives, it is "natural" to most of them.

Rick is right again! But you are talking about older houses, aren't you? All the houses I've been in that were built in the last 25 years or so have wall air-conditioners.

@BelloBudo007 Bill, you made a false premise, then made a false conclusion. That is odd.
1
@BelloBudo007 Bill, I see your English comprehension is not up to native level yet.

Yeah, there is Fall this year. I enjoyed it last week by climbing up some low mountains - beautiful!

@asdfghjjhgf AA is forcing his values onto others. That is not just weird, that is dangerous.
