  1. Cast(e)ing motives (unfortunately, not always misplaced) in political actions is another past time of us Indians and as an extension of the helpless(?) media. As long as we continue to cast(e) our votes instead of just voting, India will remain a LAGGARD DEMOCRACY. Tailpiece: It is for us, the people of India and the Indian media, to wake up to this reality. Caste based politics has not taken our Nation anywhere but backwards. Why don’t we just discuss economics? Roti, kappa , Makkan- isn’t that a common thread which will unite all?
