When the dust settles down, it will be realized that the “tour of duty” is a good programme to enable the youth of the Nation and may be detrimental to the efficiency of the Armed Forces. It is damning to see how political parties do not see beyond the party and are ready to do anything, even destroy the fabric of society, for power and wealth? Hopefully the Nation will one day, soon, see through these machinations of vested interests. Tailpiece: Gotta see how a balance in the Agnipath can be stuck. May require mid term course corrections

@bobfaam5215 Okay Bob. 1 The Indian Army is much more in disposition and bigger than just the agniveers. 2. The primary task of the Indian Defence Force is NOT repeat NOT to fight terrorism or terrorists, whether Islamic or others. 3. At no time will the Indian Defence force comprise of only the “4year” agniveers. 4. In contrast the Indian public will comprise of more and more well trained youth with purpose in life. @bobfaam5215 Bob, when the Indian Army fought in the World Wars and the major wars in 1948, 1962, 1965 and 1971, the colour service of a soldier was just 7 years and when they were “retired” then it was without terminal benefits. The service was extended to 14 years in 1973 to make them eligible for pension. So, technically there should be no problem to fight wars with Agniveers. A bit complicated Bob. @bobfaam5215 No Bob.. when they get out, they need age on their side too…soldiers are human too…they too have a right to a good future. THAT is important too. Like other things in this the twenty first century… soldiers can not be a use throw item,,, enjoy.
