The character of a Nation is shaped by its own culture and the influence of external cultures predominantly through occupation (Kublai etc. in China (only 160 years), Delhi Sultanate, Mughals etc. in India (621 years) and influence of colonization (East India Company, British and others (1608-1947); none in China. As is evident, the Chinese culture as in a polity, has had very little telling influence from the outside. The one-party rule of the CCP for decades has ensured a direction to the economy and society of China. The methods may be dubious and unpalatable to the free world but the effect is seemingly effective as desired by the CCP, so far. CCP directly controls most of the economy while it influences the remaining businesses. Tailpiece. Ultimately money talks. That is the first language of China and not Mandarin.

The ideal and desirable situation no doubt. To get something (good will or whatever) we have to give something ( read money) We did not have enough. China had/have. So Sri Lanka and Nepal went the China way. Burma was/is politically undependable. Yet, we are doing our bit and these countries are seeing friendship with India may be better than cozying up to China. Let us watch

@anantdhyani2882 Thanks. All true. But the “diversity” is internal to the geography and not imported (from Persia, Central Asia and Europe etc…) like in India. This difference is the difference! Enjoy.

@ihavenojawandimustscream4681 Hi jawless… all very well. The point I am making is that foreigners from outside the geography (expect for the Mongols briefly) did not rule or colonise China as was done to India by people from Central Asia, Persia and Europe, for centuries. The influence is there for everyone to see vis a vis China etc…. Enjoy. Thanks for the response.
