  1. I wonder. PCs were available in India, running Basic on DOS since the mid 1980s. That is 40 years back.

  3.  john smith  true. But smart phones (good at user end) do not yet support "serious" computing...as in developing large applications and computing products...but the computing environment on the whole is definitely much improved now than it was 4 decades back.

  5.  john smith  user end computing has grown in geometric proportions in India in the past four decades. Also, shal I dare say that most SW developers around the world too are Indians.
