The narrative of National pride is getting increasingly eclipsed by the agenda based discourses on Nationalism. Tailpiece: National pride is essential to safeguard sovereignty, more so in a vibrant and diverse democracy. Make no mistake here.

In regard to Rover ( I wonder whether you are a cricket fan/follower - but with your intelligence you will understand what I say). The NZ cricket team lost to Australian cricket team in the final of the T20 World Cup cricket tournamnet. It does not necessarily mean that the NZ cricket team and the NZ Nation can't take pride in the performance of the team and declare the campaign (performance in the tournament) as a whole, a success just because they lost a nail biting final match.
