  1. Obviously China is after Tawang, if only for the second holiest and important Buddhist monastery there, (where Dalailama stayed in 1959: while fleeing from Tibet). But probably in the short and medium term China will achieve more by just threatening and instigation. A distraction for India… a diversion of its economic resources… a live political point for the opposition… etc.. etc…. Tailpiece: In the case of LAC actions and China’s intentions it is not always what we see/hear is actually what is. Also since decades in regard to China the Indian Government knows (and hides) much more than we know. Whether it is for good, bad or worse only time can tell. By discussing the unknown we are playing into the Chinese hands.
