Therein lies the irony of politics in democracy. The stated aim of this leader is to get his party into power. For most parties the aim is “get power and retain it at all costs”. For sections of society the aim is to agitate and retain undue advantages, like some of the “farmers” of India. Long live democracy. Tailpiece: In democracies all over the world people go out and vote. In India people are encouraged to cast(e) their votes. So we remain a laggard democracy. One step forward two steps back.
