  1. Great analysis DK. TN is an important state (as are all other states, of course) in the numbers game. It is obvious that split in political parties, especially in regional parties, though ostensibly for ideological reasons, is actually for usurping power by individuals and/or factions. I believe this is a phenomenon unique to India political space. Déjà vu. In all he political drama s (soap operas to be specific), as in watching the soaps on TV, it is all a sentimental play on the spectators / electorate, producing nothing substantial but macabre “entertainment” and waste of time. My hope is that the we the people of India realise, they are the real losers. Tailpiece: Could it be that a “North” dominated party was lured by “Panneer”? Just asking.
