I have always maintained that religious texts were written by humans and should be treated as such. If we were to go back in time many modern religions will reveal an ugly side. I appeal to all sections of society to look ahead. For a society to be secular the religious leaders should periodically come together on a common platform and proclaim “Your God(s) is as good as mine; your path to reach him ( or her) is as good as mine”. Period. If this is done in a society no politician can use religion to garner votes. Any other approach for harmony (majority, minority, appeasement et al..)is only for exploitation and fail to address oneness of humanity with many GODs. These decisions such as Tuesday/Friday et al should be taken by the society and the people and not by law makers. All RELIGIONS need to recognize this and come out of medivial mindset and the “My way is high way” syndrome Tail piece: Some modern religions will have to travel more than half way to achieve this harmony.
