  1. This is a process which will take time. In India the problem is compounded by decades of neglect by successive Governments in matters of Military build up - equipment, soldier and doctrine. Three things: 1. The Military has to be adequately equipped for the task. 2. Nation has to ensure that the fire in a soldiers belly is kept always burning ; at the end of the day, it is the (wo)man who takes the bullet who will make the difference. Treat him / her well. 3. The Media should desist from treating matters of Military like a soap opera. Yes, a Nation needs to invest in the Military the right way, as a wholesome unit, if it wants to Defend its sovereignty and have a say in World Matters.
