  1. An erudite analysis. My take. The opposition can unite to defeat Modi. Not beyond for obvious reasons such as different agenda, personal ambitions, parochial bias, caste bias, religious bias etc.,etc. ad nauseam, will take over the thought process of parties in coalition. A minimum common programme (a joke actually for a Nation as large as India, remember 1.4 b people) will be woefully inadequate for economic progress and development. Tailpiece: It beats me as to what UNITY is the opposition talking. It will be better for India if the Nehru-Gandhi family abdicates (vanish to private lives) and hands over the INC to competent leaders, not just symbolically. Let the Nation discuss this at length. We as a Nation should debate the larger picture and not piecemeal politics.
