It is in appropriate to address the PM speech from only from the point of elections, even for a political ( or former). Political journalist. This gives an impression that Democracy and the Nation is ONLY about elections. This has been the bane of journalism since six decades when I started with reading vernacular news papers. The PM speech had many development point - in Defence, economics, J&K, NE, manufacturing, foreign policies, self reliance and many more. Those need to be highlighted before politics.
