  1. An addendum.. This is just a case of a wayward kid. Not a National interest topic. We have so many such wayward kids in India and the world. There is absolutely no requirement to fault the system. The whole idea just stinks. Let not a Nation be taken for a ride by the media.

  3. I would say that the media is fixated ( now, including the print). Please do not include the whole Nation in the “fixation”. To me it is just another drug case, as is for millions of other Indians. I wonder why the media is creating a song and dance about it. The overplay by the media has not helped the accused, the state, friends and relatives of the accused etc. Tailpiece: Media is not the Nation. Aside. Having made my point (which ThePrint allows me to do) I appreciate the quality of SG’s presentation here. But there is absolutely no need to fault a system.

  4. No issues whether Aryan Khan should or should not get bail. Say, I am not a legal expert. But my point is as a citizen, why does the media go to town for celebrities and celebrity kids etc… only. There are 1000s of citizens languishing in jails in the country for similar reasons (may be less severe alleged “crimes”). If the justice system needs improvement (it sure does) the “experts”, I am sure have many avenues than fire the gun from celebrities shoulders. Such selective media attention produces a stink. If the aim is to raise awareness such cases are not the ideal examples. Tailpiece: Such unwanted publicity may be detrimental to the celebrities vocation, peace of mind etc… and surely does not help the case either way in any way
