  1. “We must look bad news in the face”. Absolutely right. But this over simplification of reality also does not make it go away. The bottom line is as a Nation we have failed to build industries (including for military hardware, which every major economies [ excluding Germany and Japan for reasons well known,]have done) , even though India traditionally has two belligerent neighbours, is a travesty and the singular reason for China galloping ahead. Let us now not cry over spilt milk. Instead let us concentrate, at least now, in helping the Nation build its own industries. A start is being attempted. Let us (the media) highlight this requirement. Tailpiece: Less discussions of street politics and more of of policies etc… in the media will help. Let us not live from election to election.
