  1. Apparantly Mohnke was never accused of any war crimes by the Soviets and I'm sure they investigated him thoroughly. Hence his treatment as a prisoner-of-war instead of a war criminal.

  2. Years ago I worked with a man named Gustav David Lange. He told me he made a business trip to Isreal and while checking in with Isreali authorities they pulled out a large ledger book and began looking for anyone named Gustav Lange who was wanted as a Nazi criminal. Well Dave (he went by Dave) was American-born and had the papers to prove it so he had no problems but he said it was a good indication that the Israeli's NEVER stopped looking.

  3. Despite the open or well-concealed animosity between Bormann and Himmler it looks like at some point Bormann was given an SS general's rank, either honorary or actual. The "Brown Eminance" has to be wearing that Allegemine-SS gray uniform for a good reason. I'd guess Himmler was trying to stay on Bormann's good side.
