US is no colonizer. In ancient history they gave Philippines independence even though they did not have to and could have easily "kept" the country and did whatever they wanted like the spanish and Japan did. The US have since beaten nation after nation, usually terrorist nations, in wars and have not kept a single inch of the territories for themselves. They are a good and powerful ally. Much more honorable, internationally respected and more powerful than China. Even if what you say was true, that would be better than falling under the rule of china. @pisablavatsky-cb3dd

Agree. It is a very good partnership.

Its a very valuable partnership from both sides. It is good that Marcos was smart enough to realize how important it is. Unlike that clown Duterte.

yes.

Aligning their interests with the #1 superpower in the world, nation with #1 economny and more friends than anyone else on earth.... is the smartest thing they ever did.

Oh well. Chinas loss than i guess. Boo hoo for you. @TedrosAdhanom.

And judging by Philippines list of allies, the Philippines is and should be the heavy favorite.

Stay in good relations with them, and the US will be there when India "requests" help with important issues in the future. @gskylexkk7280

Its not ukraine 2.0. Ukraine fights alone. Philippines won't be. India is wise to get on the winning team. They have lots to gain considering all the "issues" they have had with their crazed power drunk neighbor. @alanhamford2538

Cant happen with the US protection agreement. (Ukraine is now wishing that they had)

Big brother India watching over one shoulder, giant brother US watching over the other. Whats pathetic China going to do now? ha ha ha ha.

They should be... You are right they are not on the same bar. Pakistan is a joke. They dont have the friends and allies that the philippines has, and not even close. "Power" also comes from the allies you have willing to step up. Right now, Philippines are a powerful player in asia kid, the USA alone makes them that. Throw in all the others and it is no wonder that yes, China is VERY concerned. They have been whining about it STEADY for the last few months now.

Chinas method of communication is stating things are going to be their way then stick their fingers in their ears and repeat it over and over like a 6 year old..... They are long overdue for their spanking.
2
Maybe your idea of china being "mighty" doesnt align with their idea of china... Especially with US on the OTHER side opposing China. China not looking so "mighty" now...:text-green-game-over:
