I think it’s pathetic to want a ring to show off, when you paid for half of it yourself.
70
Paying higher wages forces businesses to raise prices for everyone. It doesn’t increase purchasing power or help the economy.
54
You mean she needs to start working in the first place. They should leave California. It’s too expensive them to have a future here.
54
@lois081073 And way too great a percentage aren’t turning out well these days.
38
@djm2189 She said in the first episode he was sexy. On their first date he TOLD her he was still married. She should have run. Pathetic that she got excited over his D and said he joined the ranks of “the educated Latinos”. Gimme a break. You could see he wasn’t buying it. I’d like to know what the math class was. I can’t get a C in anything higher than arithmetic. 🤣 But I can understand basic finance and compound interest. It was the only class he took that semester, but he did have a full time job and responsibility for his son. This is why parents tell their kids to get their education before taking on any responsibilities.
38
@JoRonnamo Exactly. The economy grows when people increase their skills and value and produce more. Not when they get $18 per hour minimum wage for doing an entry-level job.
37
They go ahead and do it because the taxpayers are forced to support their children. I don’t have kids because I can’t afford them. Because i didn’t cause myself hardship, I’m forced to pay for theirs.
37
@wil7228 They weren’t married when they got the ENGAGEMENT RING, Einstein.
34
José didn’t seem smart enough for her, and she was an immature, spoiled little princess. She flipped out every time it looked like she might not get what she wanted.
31
@ecclairmayo4153 I suppose that was more then he planned to spend. He shouldn’t have taken her. He should have chosen the ring himself. It’s best for the guy to know what type of setting his GF likes, then buy it by himself, choosing a diamond he can afford. This girl is a demanding princess.
30
@kumi9479 There’s hardly anything of quality on TV anyway.
29
Taxes which the government then spends on people who do all the wrong things.
28
@bellazefra It’s as if the older siblings escaped.
24
I was hoping Percy might get hired as a machinist.
23
All of God’s creatures work. And I’m sure she was taught to keep her legs closed.
23
Emilia should quit banging her head against the wall with waitress jobs and stop romanticizing about a mens construction job. Learn how to do an office job.
23
@Provostialish She needed to meet a guy there.
21
@tezh5897 They must have taken equity out. I agree, it seems the sons could kick in to keep them going, especially because that house is headquarters for the entire extended family.
18
I’m sorry your family suffered; and your dad took the path less traveled, which led to the same place. But his choice got you out of there. Live a good life. 💕
15
He has a flat affect. Poor guy is buried under responsibilities. But he still knew how to woo a girl, even having a child and still being married.
14
Why do the pentecosts abuse those poor snakes, standing on them, subjecting them to all that racket, and locking them in a small box? 😢
14
I don’t appreciate the program burying the lead with regard to Emilia. I felt bad for her after learning she’d been a union sprinkler fitter in the first episode. After learning in this episode she did all the wrong things before that - not so much.
14
I agree about the ring and the wedding. Not about the shorts. It’s embarrassing and undignified for an older lady to wear shorts. It should be illegal for an employer not to provide the option of pants.
13
@saturationstation1446 Millennials are entitled. Even the ones who grew up in Tijuana and live in a trailer park garage. 🙄
13
1:48:15 Diana’s nails are ludicrous, and a manicure like that is very expensive. Totally unsuitable for a mother caring for children, not to mention newborns. People like her who are on public assistance will claim their friend is a manicurist and does it free when questioned. Even if that were true, it’s very time consuming, so she is wasting time when she ought to be working and earning money.
12
Emilia has money for acrylic nails and cigarettes. Elizabeth is wearing expensive Tory Burch shoes, in the scene just before she goes into her office to pay her bills and budget.
12
Sadly, Hilton and his girlfriend got a reprieve. I don’t believe for a second they had to pay that hospital bill. That was on the taxpayers.
12
@Gobbldeegoo1 Would you rather look for food every day like the animals?
12
The ones who do the least make the biggest fuss at the time of death and the funeral, too. They make it all about them. And they’re Johnny on the Spot when it comes to any inheritance.
12
Elizabeth made a very poor decision by getting involved with that guy. His being sexy doesn’t put food on the table. He needs to get established before getting involved with anyone. Her parents sacrificed for her education, and she deliberately chose to bring hardship on herself.
11
@ligbzd837 Hilton is really hampered. First he was born in the US but raised in Mexico. So he’s not allowed to work in Mexico, but he doesn’t speak English. Then, according to him, his mom kicked him out for not being able to contribute enough to the household. Because of the situation SHE set up. So he’s here doing the bottom-rung job. And I have an inkling this little GF and her mom intended for her to get pregnant and come to the US with him. Where is the Kennedy family?
11
Diamond rings are easily lost or stolen. My colleague lost her ring after 30 years.
10
These days parents and universities are turning out weak people.
10
@ToxicAvengerCleanYourMind Exactly. I’m a white-collar professional woman and I wanted kids. I didn’t have them because I didn’t get married, couldn’t afford them, and wouldn’t have been able to stay home with them. I’m alone, but have to pay for others to have families.
10
Me too!
9
Plus, since the size of the diamond was so important to her, she should have chosen a round stone. Square-cut is wasteful.
9
@donnaleeclubb119 Employees get burned out and resentful when the workplace is understaffed. Watch Joshua Fluke.
8
@djm2189 Thank you. Insurance is a great way for a person with a lot of contacts to maje money with no college education. She definitely knows a lot of people. Some of them must be business owners with larger accounts. She’s very social. Perfect personality to go out and get clients.
8
It’s better to invest the extra money. It will grow and compound more than the low interest rate on the loan.
7
@mmp495 It takes a little planning and self-discipline not to bring problems on yourself.
7
@happycook6737 I agree. No money and no space. The baby will go without something because of the cost of that tacky teddy bear. Or - here’s a revolutionary idea - he could have used that money to pay a token amount of the medical bills.
7
She’s also spoiled, demanding, and entitled. Keep watching.
6
Why is she sitting there having a philosophical conversation with David about the ethics of it at 31:00, her and her nasally voice? And telling him he could’ve lowballed her when he offered the allowance? Somehow I don’t think that’s how it’s done.
6
Asinine. I noticed that. And I’m a woman!
6
@3namechangezalowdevry90day7 He would have found a better girl if he’d given himself a chance to learn English and prosper first.
6
When I was a server in college, it only paid to work at an expensive place. The wine sales rep had tastings for us. That’s how I learned about wine. Working at a breakfast place would be the wrong way to go about it because breakfast is very hectic and it’s cheap, so the tips are low.
5
It’s unacceptable how many people are coming out of the military without a skill that qualifies them for a decent job. What’s going on over there? Thank you for your service.
5
And they shouldn’t be living in a garage. The police and local prosecutors should have put a stop to that situation pronto.
5
She was really idiotic. If a material thing was so important to her, she should have found a different guy.
4
He really deserved to be hired.
