  1. Redistribution of wealth. The national GDP takes28 years to double. In the same time period, any amount put into an S&P 500 index fund will multiply by a factor of twelve. Lets just say someone put one million dollars in that index fund for 28 years, now it is 12 million dollars. Where exactly did that extra 11 million dollars come from? It was extracted from the real economy or the existing wealth of the middle class, this is the real nature of redistribution of wealth under capitalism (socialism for the wealthy). Since the stock market is a great casino that produces nothing, it is the means of wealth extraction from our people and our national treasury to enrich the already wealthy.
