  2. If I had been taiwan, I would have played Hardball with America regarding this because at the end of the day America really couldn't have done anything if tsmc had decided to not build here. On tsmc hand I understand why they did it as a company because they want to diversify the locations that they build in. From America's standpoint for some reason, politicians actually believe that we don't manufacture any chips because they don't know who Intel is apparently. Although to be fair, until only was manufacturing its own chips because Intel is pretty hard to work with when it comes to chip development because you don't want them to steal your designs. The only way until really will ever work is if it splits apart
