And for any person who is reading and doesn't know alpha decay. Basically, alpha decay is the concept that if you have a good strategy and you share it so everyone is doing it, it's no longer able to make good profits. Or, if you need a story, imagine you found a goldmine. Now if you don't tell anyone, you can mine all the gold yourself. Or at least, buy the property, whatever we won't get into the details. However, if you find a goldmine, and tell everyone you know about it, you may only get a small amount of that gold for yourself, and everyone else would get gold for free, even though you did the work to find said gold.

And nothing to be excited about. But you're absolutely right, they are profitable. Or maybe he means that from the article he read, it sounds like zillow may sell their current inventory at loss. But that's pure speculation. Again, you're right though, we have no proof zillow will sell at losses, just speculation based on them saying they are ending ibuying for now.

You can't just be a good trader, good m&a, etc. Accounting is a huge part of the game either learn it or have a good friend who is very good at it that you can run ideas by. Accounting gets a bad rep in the industry for being "boring" but there's a lot of money in the boring part of the game.

  29. Not surprised, I used to work for an insurance company and if you saw the backend that they used, you would be horrified. Basically, if you knew how our banking system works you would be terrified. There is a good reason why you might want to move over to something like Bitcoin. I'm not a crypto Pusher, but when it comes to our banking infrastructure, it is a complete shit show. People have no idea how much fraud occurs, and basically any transaction over $1000000 has zero oversight. Only the poor are regulated. If you withdraw 10,000 cash you will definitely be flagged, but if you transfer a hundred million dollars no one will bat an eye, even if there are 10 red flags.

  32.  @juliantheapostate8295  interesting, one of my largest issues with the FED is that when the economy gets into trouble they will lower interest rates to try and bring in workers. The theory is that businesses will borrow money at lower rates and invest that money in things that will require workers. Yet one of the things they will do, is say that they are going to keep interest rates low for an extended period of time. If I told you that I was going to do a sale at my store, but I was going to do that sale for three years, then you wouldn't feel like you have to buy anything from my sale anytime soon. Well, when the FED does the same thing with interest rate loans, if I know that I can get a low interest rate loan for the next three years, then I'm not going to risk doing a major business expansion during a crisis, I Will Wait towards the end of the crisis while interest rates are still low maybe and then do it.

  34. You have to be careful not to piss off the customer. Look at gamers. Look how many gamers are mad at gaming due to the shortage. It even hurt views on the subject for content creators and the comments were all negative. I went from very excited about gaming to not caring at all and seeing it as a hopeless black hole. You don't went to demoralize your customer base and have them spend elsewhere. Most people buy things because they want to, not need to, like the way you think. And yes, that extends to cars. Which to you is wild, but it's true. You run the risk of the consumer spending their time and money somewhere else. For me, that was audio and server. If all prices and supply normalized, I don't know if I would want to game still. That's what Ford wants to avoid. The customer losing interest in the purchase entirely due to the scalping.

  44.  @penedrador  get more roommates. Saving money is huge towards building wealth. Growing a business with it, investing it. You can't just save money... You have to grow your saved money... You can reset everyone's networth back to zero. For 95% of the population, it would end up back at these distorted levels. There's a group of the population that knows how to grow money and another group that just doesn't. It's not an easy concept to understand. Until you actually think of how the financial system works, you're doomed to failure.

Starbucks, iPhones, skins, dances, getting full price games on release, new cars, people buy tons of things. They never even tried to grow anything or do anything and then expect this game of life to stay stagnant. Again, I ask people, many young people who love bitcoin, say it's the next big thing and there is a limited amount of it. Well, same with land. So of course that price will go up faster. People need to keep thinking of ways to evolve in this game of life. Expecting to be able to work, buy a house, and live in it as your primary wealth tool, how long did people think that would last before people realized land was under priced? Now housing is actually going towards its correct values and people aren't thinking of new ways to generate wealth for themselves, they just are looking at housing, complaining, and giving up saying the game is over. It's not over, go back to the drawing board and think of a new way to generate wealth. In a world of Billions of people, did you seriously think the same strategy of buying a house and living in it to generate wealth would be the strategy used for EVER? or that the game of life might evolve....

Any person with any decent amount of wealth got a lot wealthier and wants to diversify. When governments all around the world gave people money to get through the pandemic they spent it and where did that money go, to people who own businesses.
