According to many China experts, they have been crashing since the nineties. One expert even predicted that would happened back in 2001. He even wrote a best selling book and made a lot of money from people who thought like you.

President Xi is now in Peru to open the largest deepsea port in Latin America. This means imports and exports to and from Latin America to Asia do not have to go through Los Angeles port in US anymore. The time taken to reach the Chinese ports have been reduced by 12 days. This port will act as a gateway that connects land and sea between Asia and Latin America. A huge opportunity for them, especially Peru in terms of trade and jobs. Meanwhile people here on the comment section have no clue what's going on or what they are talking about.Except to make the usual feel good silly comments.

Wall Street is a prime example. Global financial meltdown 2008.

It's not scary or fast. According to many " China experts" the Chibese economy has been collapsing since the nineties. I would not lay my bet it would happen anytime soon. Eventually, sure. Nothing last forever.

@patrickt49 Sorry to burst your bubble. Do you know the Ford Motors CEO owns and drives a Chinese ev, Xiaomi SU7 Max. He said he loves driving it so much, he's not stopping. I gather that means he's not even driving his own models anymore. A huge compliment coming from an American auto giant CEO and rival. No one would have seen this coming. Even more remarkable is the fact that a Chinese smartphone maker managed to deliver such an ev on their first attempt nd within 3 years. While the other phone superpower we know failed miserably. Despite having lots of tech, talent, unlimited resources and time to do it.

Dont count on it. Even your Ford Motors CEO prefers to drive a Chinese ev rather than his own. His Xiaomi SU7 Max. He said he loves driving it so much, he can't stop.

Made in Japan slowly fading away. Just go to and electronic and electrical shop and see how many are left. Sanyo, Sansui, Nakamichi, Pioneer, Akai, Onkyo, Hitachi, Sharp brands have disappeared. Now the Chinese brands like Hisense, Haier and Midea are dominating the market. Consumers here found them to be just as good and cheaper.

You don't need to steal IP when yours are superior to the competition. You need high tariffs because you can't compete with a better and more affordable import. Like what you see currently in the EV industry. There's is nothing EU or US have in ev tech that can compete with hhe Chinese. That's why the Getmans are the first to realize this and decided to invest and collaborate with the Chibese. Now even the king of auto Toyota has to collaborate with BYD.

Most phones including yours are made there. The best made Teslas are also built in Shanghai, according to Elon himself. Just two examples.

@Jetsetbob2 Really? So why EU is so worried about poor quality Chinese made evs coming to their market. Surely Europeans will not buy them. The market will decide. There is really no need to impose high tariffs on them, unless your own brands cannot compete with a better bulit and more affordable import.

@lance8080 Very poor reasoning. Even the US subsidized the big three in Detriot. Yet American made cars are not known for their build quality. The argument here in the comments section is poor and cheap quality Chinese made. Period. So even with subsidies, their evs should not be able to match or surpassed the superior Western or Japanese made evs. But you know for a fact they are way ahead. US is even more spooked than EU by rushing to impose 100% tariff, eventhough no Chinese evs are for sake there. They know without full protection, Detriot big three will be demolished. Elon Musk have already warned them.
