Accessibility and mobility via an efficient transport system are key to economic development and progress in any country. One of the main reasons why the Romans managed to conquer most of Europe and establish their empire, is because they built a road network. You can still see remnants of their handiwork in some European countries.

  2. Meanwhile here in Indonesia, the Chinese have completed and handed over the first high speed rail line in Asean. Now the trip from our capital Jakarta back to my hometown in Bandung takes just 45 minutes. Previously my road trip takes about 3.5 hours. Thanks to the Chinese engineers, I get to go home more often. This has been running since Oct last year, enjoying overwhelming success with almost full capacity daily. The authorities have to increase the number of daily trips to accommodate everyone.
