  1. The Sherman and Stuarts were used so much by the Americans partly because of how easy it was to transport them by ship, as well as how easy it was to repair them. It was preferable to use a Tank Destroyer like the Hellcat or Jackson rather than a Heavy Tank because Heavy Tanks were so hard to transport and maintain. Even the Pershing didn't see combat until the end of the war.
