  1. There have been Arab communities in that area for a long time. The Lebanese came as early as the late 19th century and in the ‘20s worked in the auto industry. My college class in Islam visited a Shiite mosque in 1973; the man who was very gracious talked with us and we were treated to a delicious free dinner. The atmosphere didn’t get hostile til the Palestinians showed up with a chip on their shoulders. Which is why their Arab neighbors in Egypt, Syria and Jordan have refused to take them in.

  7.  @Tonkarai  Islam was founded by Muhammad in the early 600s. 1400+ years ago. The Jews were dispersed and not fighting Arabs. European Christians launched the Crusades but got their arses handed to them and various Arab then Turkish dynasties then controlled the area. The Zionist Jews arrived back starting in the late 19th century. The Ottomans lost WWII and the British and French controlled til the late 1940s. After the state of Israel was founded the Arab nations ATTACKED it and many Arabs in Israeli territory ended up in refugee camps and were left to rot there ever since by their Muslim brothers. If you think that if the Egyptians and Syrians had won they’d have handed the country to the “Palestinians” you could not be more wrong. The Lebanese got drawn into it and Hezbollah answers to Iran (Iranians aren’t even Arabs btw). Jordan’s concentrated in staying out of it.

  15. They haven’t fought for 2000 years. Read some history. Many Jews dispersed in Roman times, had no political power; Muslims didn’t show up there til Muhammad (600s). The Zionists came back in the late 19th century. The entire Levant was part of the Ottoman Empire. During WWI the Brits promised both the Arabs and Jews the land in exchange for helping them oust the Turks, but then after the war the Brits got control of Palestine and Jordan and the French of Lebanon and Syria. Both Jews and Arabs wanted the Brits and French out. Only after the Brits left did war erupt between Arabs and Jews. The Jews won and the ‘Palestinian’ Arabs have refused for 75 years to accept that and make peace. If the Israelis have had enough playing paddycake with them and go in hard, to Gaza and maybe the West Bank, to kick arse and take names, fine with me!
