Isn't a large number of IT already minority, i.e., Asian? If it's about black hire then why put the pressure on tech companies when black Americans generally show no interest in STEM? 75% of black PhDs receive their degrees in Education. All those black educators have no interest in encouraging black kids pursue STEM, the highest of paying jobs. Only 23% of blacks receive college degrees. So how do you fill out a quota when 75% of the 23% who are 12% of the entire US population receive college degrees predominantly in one field?

The real issue with affirmative action is there's no follow up once the minority is hired. Most who are underqualified will QUIT from depression, and the progressives have no empathy whatsoever. In my law firm that has pushed diversity for 25 plus years, our stats show 75% of black associates don't make it passed the 2nd year. Shrugs from woke HR. Same with universities. They shoot as high as 30% black enrollment but when less than 10% of those graduate, there's no concern. They care only for hire or enrollment stats, not retention.

I live in area with similar demographics. A group of these women hurled abuses at me because I failed to let them pass down a snowy sidewalk before me. I thought feminists fought against Victorian standards of feminine frailty. Guess not.

Because some white people disagree with it? Are all white people from the same pod?
