I'm happy to hear Dr. Crawford mention several times HR departments being a force of this cult of crisis, since most of us work for corporations and HR departments are our firsthand experiences with what we encounter in crisis culture. My HR department mandated vaccines and racial sensitivity training all in the same year during lockdown with a bombardment of social and political messaging that continues near daily, and has adversely affected me in ways I try not to think about. I detest these do-gooders. They are liars and they know it. Sorry I can't be as diplomatic as Dr. Crawford.

  6. I grew up during the sexual revolution in the US, it was commercialized, parodied, debated, celebrated, and it was great fun to watch from my couch. Burn bras, find my G spot... there was something interestingly innocent about it all. Hugh Hefner raised me as I read my dad's Playboys, openly displayed on the coffee table. I'm a Libertarian as a result and find today's wokeness contrary to all those liberal values I was raised on. Today's Left is stodgy, anti-sex, prudish, humorless conservative bores.

  7. I know that in Italy, which has the second highest elderly population in the world thanks to brain drain, stress-related illnesses like shingles and hypertension have skyrocketed. It isn't covid that will drive Italy's health care system over the edge, unless you consider the global response to it.

In February 2020 a physician described to me his experiences in China 15 years prior witnessing lockdowns for all sorts of reasons with communist police bolting people inside their apartments as part of "emergency " measures. Everything in China is about the collective at the cost of sometimes millions of individuals. A few weeks later I was in Italy visiting a friend and the day after I arrived, lockdown which led to requiring official papers to leave your home and police checks. The willingness to comply in a disorganized society like italy blew my mind. As I told my friend then in poor italian, Siamo tutto cinese adesso. I returned to the US where division among people like me and the sheep was thick, with a media literally encouraging violence. And Joe Biden openly calls for police action and violence toward non-conformists--and like in China for any reason, with a cheering media. Supporters think of themselves as the best moral majority armed with money and master's degrees. There is zero reaching them.

  12. In the US, colleges across the country have used the same marketing ploy for ages in various phraseology: "we build the leaders of tomorrow." I always thought that was rather pompous. Why should holding a college degree give someone the presumption they should be a "leader"? And of course part of the chaos and recklessness of today's institutions, corporations and government is we have way too many captains of the ship.

  13. The word the elites use is "crisis." There was a time when these activists exaggerated figures to convince everyone of a crisis. Twenty million homeless in America, 1 out of 2 children molested, 30% of children hungry, etc. These days interestingly the crisis pushers no longer bother to fake figures. If 5 people suffer from something (transphobia, monkeypox, police brutality), it's a crisis. Out of this comes the term zeroism. Activists convinced people to sacrifice everything to save even 1 person from an alleged crises or injustice. And in my opinion they're motivated by pure greed, as every one of their solutions requires billions of dollars in new programs, or research, to save us.

  30. 25 years ago I worked for a resume writing firm. A woman requested her name not be initially capped. She said she doesn't believe individuals should stand out above others. I told her not initially capping her name would make her stand out as she's likely the only one who'd do it. She complained, I was fired. This was 25 years ago.

I was searching for scientific information on foreign language learning in older people and came across an academic article with the concluding analysis: "Therefore, national governments and all stakeholders dealing with the present issue of the aging population should pay undivided attention to the enhancement of older people’s wellbeing..." Germany is almost never referred to in the US, not by academics, not by celebrities, not even by antifa whose black cloaked death mongering actually originated in Germany.
