  1. I'm American and I never thought the British accent made anyone sound intelligent. In my opinion Hollywood uses British accents as the catchall for a foreigner, and since you can't have the character speak in a foreign tongue, they give them British accents. I've heard British accents used even for actors portraying Nazis.

  2. Woke at its core is anti-American which has much of its origins in the UK, in my opinion. The anti-American caricatures coming out of Britain over the past few decades in particular could only lead to such a vicious, cult-like political climate. Sorry, woke, i.e., Marxism, does not have its roots in the US, pardon the pun.
