In 1858, the Sino-Russian "Aihui Treaty" ceded about 600,000 square kilometers of land south of Waixing'anling and north of Heilongjiang. China wants it back. If there's turmoil in Russia's leadership, would China take advantage of it to forcefully reclaim what it signed away long ago? Stay tuned. Unlikely Putin has a friend in Xi or even a convenient long term partner.
