  1. Caste system ruined the country slowly when people associated ability with birth and lineage. Instead od seeing caste system as a system based on profession, basing it on eugenics and lineage is a recipe for disaster. In the modern world it is ironic that the INC which fought for a modern India has acquired the worst aspect of the caste system, while the 'hindu facist "shaakhas and shikhas" manuvaad' BJP has become merit oriented atleast in most cases. However the current congressisation of the BJP will be a true test of character, mettle and ideology, and i hope BJP remains largely a merit based political party in the decades to come...
