  1. @P Pierre i have played chess extensively, and i assure you there are such situations, rare as they may be. One example i can give in the opening phase is when the opponent block their own devoloped bishop already on a dominant diagonal by advancing pawns. The pawns gest blocked and the bishop remains inactive , or the opponent requires extra moves to realign his bishop, which is an advantage in terms of extra moves for me. In the above example, stopping the opponent from making mistakes would be attacking the blocking pawn recklessly. You might even win a pawn, but you may lose a strategic advantage in terms of a blocked bishop and a few precio8s moves (that could have otherwise been spent attacking loose pieces or forcing opponent to make umproductive moves). It seems like you dont play good chess.
