@RaniRani-kk1qd gandhi wasnt a traitor, but his mistakes were many. Try reading up on the moplah massacre and what ambedkar and gandhi said about it...

The Print is truly gandhian in that you guys never lie, you just stay silent about things like the lynching of rinku sharma and the bhainsa riots. You dont need to lie if both your word and your silence is so effective. Unfortunately modern social media denies The Print the comforts of insulation from criticism that the mahatma enjoyed.

@hmmmm6685 tell us the truth, did you actually beleive that modi always speaks the truth? Most people vote him for what he does rather than what he says. Thats why issuws from CAC to Art 370, from privatisation to UCC are relevant poll issues, because once the noise settles, only the BJP has the ability to carry out the politically difficult but necessary policy changes.

@hmmmm6685 is it ok to blame a non violent saint like person for inaction when action was necessary? Is it wrong to blame a non violent saint like person if he extolled the fervor of muslims who committed a genocide (the moplah genocide in 1922 which gandhiji didnt oppose because he needed the muslims to push for independence). A non violent saintlike person is not infallible, nor is he above criticism. Just as modi is not above criticism (no matter what andhbhakts say) gandhi is not above criticism either. In a culture where even gods make mistakes it seems rather evangelical (and foreign) to elevate Gandhi to so high a pedestal to render him above all criticism. Gandhi played a pivotal role in the creation of modern India, but his achievements do not wash away his mistakes. Thats not how actual history works...

@RaniRani-kk1qd because at the time of independence, gandhi was the symbol used to unite India by nehru. Gandhi was the inspiration, so had to be portrayed as an ideal so that the masses continued to have faith in the new Indian state despite severe shortcomings like food shortage, continued poverty, etc. People need hope, and Gandhi was the symbol used to give it to them. Its not much different from how christ was used as a symbol by the church to mobilise even the peasantry to conduct crusades. Perhaps one notable difference between these 2 is that gandhis non violence could be used in india post 1947 to denounce violent secessionist movements as anti gandhian, thereby maintaining the moral high ground at all times even when army was suppressing insurgencies in the north east... statecraft and politics is written in blood, and oftentimes the blood of the innocent and the gullible. If you don't want to be a victim, get smart and learn your history...

@RaniRani-kk1qd it gets better and better (or rather worse and worse) , but i would advise that you take it slow... You ought not feel guilty for the sins of any of your heroes/heroines. You should feel guilty only for your own sins... otherwise you cannot function as a productive intelligent human being... Take this journey slowly, do not get overwhelmed by it.

@RaniRani-kk1qd i am no more trustworthy than anyone else. Unless you realise the limits of your own knowledge, of history, etc you will continue to make mistakes. Find your own path, there is no easier way to understand the complexities of reality. And dont google about the atrocities committed by japan on china , not today. Trust me on this one,,, save it for some day far into the future when you feel resilient enough to read through anything and accept reality without emotion... dont look for reassurance, reality is not reassuring nor is it gory, reality is just disappointing compared to the lofty idealistic expectations of most human beings...
