17:40 something that is bad was bad and will remain bad. Would you apply the same logic to destruction of temples by islamic invasions in India? I understand that the current generation of muslims cannot be held accountable for the actions of islamic fanatics a few centuries ago, but why does everyone get so worked up when talking about that aspect of Indian history too?

@sagarvijayendra8683 how about we seek to destroy all identities, social cultural and economic. Let us dissolve all governments, control structures and forms of organisations to "equalise" all humans. In fact if we stop wearing clothes and living in houses, we can equalise with all animals too. That is the logical conclusion at the end of your argument: the unravelling of civilisational history and values developed over the centuries for the purpose of equalizing unequal people with unequal values histories and belief systems.

@sagarvijayendra8683 when did i say that muslims of the current generation should be punished for the sins of their ancestors? Acknowledging history is different from punishing the current generation. Besides the current generation of radicals among the muslim community already have enough reasons to be punished for their own actions.... But hey you seem like the type of person who prefers peace over justice or reason. That sounds good on paper but in reality caused this vicious cycle of appeasement politics. Now every group feels that the political class which always sues for peace can be bullied into submission just by rioting. Violence is incentivised each time a govt bows down to every rabid mob that torches a police station over a Facebook post. I don't want such thuggery in my India, i would rather have justice and the rule of law over this thuggery any day of the week.

@sagarvijayendra8683 and the fundamental question is why religion should have no role? The classical argument of religion being regressive fails when examined. In the end religion is an ideology, and most anti religious people essentially want to replace the popular established ideologies of various religions with their own favourite ideology. Marx said that religion was an opium for the masses. But the way things turned out from Stalin's purges to Mao's great leap forward, history has proven time and again such modern ideologies are equally religious, fanatical and fervent. If you want to criticise religion as an ideology then that is acceptable. But if you claim that religion is the root of all problem while denying the divine nature of religious thought, then you are half stupid. If religion is an ideology concocted by humanity in your own narrative, eliminating religion is not a solution. It is just burning the field for you to sow your own crops, for you to spread your own ideology.

@nadeemshaikh7077 i dont blame all muslims nor do i demand every muslim to leave india. But i do demand that all holy sites that have been destroyed so far (by any person of any religion ) be restored to the original community as a gesture of harmony or healing. Any existing buildings on those sites can be shifted or other workarounds can be found according to the religious laws of all communities. If that logic were to be applied the "places of worship" act would have to be nullified and places like the krishna janmabhoomi will be reclaimed. The mosque on that site can be shifted and i don't think the location of the mosque is important in Islam in any manner. Furthermore i believe islam speaks against construction of mosques over the destroyed sites of other religions, then by that logic even the babri masjid was un islamic. Educated hindus know that scapegoating muslims for each and every problem will solve nothing. Educated hindus also know that foreign actors like pakistan use radical islam to foment civil unrest in India. But educated hindus are also tired of events like the kashmiri pundit exodus, with its ultimatum of "CONVERT LEAVE OR DIE". If anyone were to think that hindus are weak or incapable of retaliation, it will be their last mistake.

18:26 SG please do a CTC on reservation, the effectiveness of affirmative action programs in India, and specifically in what context and under what specific conditions or metrics can reservation be removed.

@n______n26 exactly, and data available is multifaceted. The issue is so complex that the ultimate question is "is reservation a permanent feature of the basic doctrine of the constitution or a temporary provision aimed at achieving a certain national social structure/conscience ". Then obvious question arise on the original intent of reservation, whether the act of providing reservation for minority communities (even richer ones) deserves any merit, should collective national conscience work towards ending reservation through a new social model, etc. Instead what we have now is the baaap of bad ideas. If MSP is a drug, reservation is its ultimate form, with communities, castes and religions using political power and any other power (including muscle power) to demand reservations. That is a dangerous slippery slope we are on as a nation, and even the courts do not offer a long term interpretation/goal of the reservation policy.

Sagar K J As i see it, the abrahamic cultures are just worsening the situation by not seeing their own logical fallacies. And many non abrahamic idiots defend them because they desire peace over justice or reason. Anyway my arguments are solely based on rationality. Thats all i can say...

@n______n26 even in the matter of IIT professors, there are arguments being made that people who deserve reservations do not meet the basic criteria of the job (which i believe requires a PhD) . As a result of that IITs are short staffed due to the politics.surrounding reservation. I explained this simply to highlight hoe complex the problem of reservation is...

Sagar K J as per the supreme court petition filed by Dr Subramaniam Swamy in the Krishna Janmabhoomi case the construction of mosques over religious sites of other religions are unislamic as per the sources he cites. But still nearly every medieval and ancient religion has bad practices which have no value in the modern world. Some of it are codified in religious law (like killing of apostates in Islam) while others have dubious sources and are more easily countered (like caste system which was allegedly codified in manusmriti, but there are various versions of manusmriti which brings the authenticity of the very text to question). Nevertheless i believe still that all religions are ideologies and are not above criticism or reason. My personal belief as a hindu that the divine is the manifestation of ultimate knowledge leads me into this belief. So if Islamic law allows such barbaric intolerant behaviour i still believe it has no place in today's modern day and age. Islamic culture deserves as much respect as it is willing to give other cultures like dharmic cultures. If islamic culture refuses to acknowledge recorded and archeologically proven history, and if the Indian "secular" state allows them to do so, that's regrettable. Such a behaviour just encourages other communities to adopt the same behaviour just to protect their religion and culture. And like i said, hindus are tired of special treatment and appeasement politics.
