Please dont forget kerala elections and "farmer" protests either.... Or is this virus "secular"?

@karthikravichandran4 so the largest human protest in recorded modern history of Independent India had no impact on the national pandemic response? I am an imaginative person, but i do not possess your level of imagination!

@karthikravichandran4 if you never said it had zero impact, can you now tell what impact it qctually had? Citing actual recorded data would be appreciated, given our differences in political leanings...

@karthikravichandran4 i have enough logical ability to deduce that your political leaning is different from mine. However i do not presume that your political leaning is in opposition to mine. Even being apolitical or dispassionate about politics is a political position of significance on the political spectrum in a nation having universal democratic franchise. I asked for data, not a demonstration of your logical ability. I did not comment on the delta variant or bengal, nor did i absolve the Kumb Mela of any blame. I was talking specifically of the largest protest in human history organised for months in and around the national capital of India, which saw multiple "farmer panchayats" and massive participation from large areas of rural India. If you have no scientific evidence, then just say it outright instead of trying to deflect or dodge questions.

@karthikravichandran4 my knowledge of my own political position is sufficient to guarantee that it is not the same as yours. A further illustration of the same fact is this entire comment thread. So i ask you this question again, as direct and factually as possible. How much was the national pandemic response affected by the largest human protest in recorded history? Was this not a protest that spanned for months and witnessed mass congregation, community kitchens and flouting of even basic covid norms like physical distancing and wearing masks? I did not ask about the delta variant, bengal, kerala, Kumbh or any other religious congregation (like the international islamic event of tablighi jamaat organised in delhi during march 2020). I asked specifically for empirical data on the actual impact of the largest protest in history organised for months at and around the national capital. I think its logical to assume that the largest protest would also entail significant logistical challenges- even to simply feed the multitudes that swarmed to delhi. I doubt delhi is such a fertile place as to sustain them by itself- the adjoining states of punjab and haryana seem more able to achieve such a task. That seems logical to me, and logic follows that such a huge exercise involving such huge amounts of people spanning multiple states would have a great impact on the national pandemic response. My question was how large was this impact. Give me a few stats and do cite their appropriate source. Then we may understand exactly how socialist and secular the covid19 virus is....
